Hello everyone! I hope you have been all enjoying the sunny, beautiful weather we’ve been having here in Scranton. On that note, I would like to dedicate this post to earth week. With that being said, it is a good time to start taking care of your surroundings by picking up trash and recycling.
This past week, the University of Scranton’s Earth Week 2013 events began with the opening of the Environmental Art Show on Thursday, April 18, and a 5K run/walk on Sunday, April 21 (Royal News). Also, according to the Royal News,the Earth Week Fair on Thursday, April 25, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the DeNaples Center patio will feature interactive presentations and information related to the environment and sustainable practices. Similarly,on April 25, the University will host a public reception to showcase Earth Week essay submissions from area middle and high school students, as well as display artwork submitted by students in grades 4 to 6 from northeast Pennsylvania to the Pennsylvania American Water’s “Protect our Watersheds Art Contest.” The reception begins at 6 p.m. in the DeNaples Center. Dr. Seuss’ “The Lorax” will be shown at 7 p.m.
