Hello everyone! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend, as always, and have been enjoying the beautiful Scranton weather we have been having! It is a great time of the year to hangout on the Dionne Green with your friends and a frisbee. Take advantage of it!! We are only here for a few more weeks!
In this blog, I would just like to draw your attention to some of the things that have been happening on campus. Also, I want to keep you updated on future events that will take place. First and foremost, this past Thursday was the event called “Take Back the Night.” According to the Royal News,
“at The University of Scranton, Take Back the Night is a powerful event in which the community is able to stand together to end sexual violence. Each year the student body joins together with the community of Scranton in an effort to raise awareness. This night is powerful because it unites us and aids us in healing. Individuals are able to empower one another by sharing their personal stories.”
This was a wonderful event and day. All around campus young women were walking around with bandannas tied around their heads and t-shirts that had powerful messages on them to empower woman.
Also, if you or any of your friends are looking for a little extra cash during the upcoming fall semester, check out Public Safety! Royal News let us know that, “Public Safety is looking Royal Ride drivers, who drive the Royal Ride Safety Escort Van on a designated route around campus. Hours of operation include Thursday through Saturday evenings between the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. Must have at least sophomore status and be 19 years old. Drivers generally work one night a weekend.”
