My Dreams Came True

My last big adventure in California was my first trip to Disneyland! I had never been to Disneyland or Disney World, so it was truly a magical experience. When I was little, I was obsessed with Disney princesses (as you can see below), so I was on the hunt to meet as many as I could. It took almost all day, but we finally came along The Royal Hall where you can meet with 3 of the princesses – I was thrilled! I was absolutely the oldest person in line, but it was 100% worth it.  Combined with a walkthrough of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle, my childhood fantasies were fulfilled :)

To get the most out of our 1-day passes, we arrived at the park around 8:30 and got in right when the park opened. We did almost every single ride and even one of the shows called the Enchanted Tiki Room. Normally, I’m not a fan of thrill rides, so we started small with the spinning teacups at the Mad Tea Party and an indoor ride that was Winnie the Pooh themed. Next, we went to It’s a Small World which was still Christmas themed so we got to see how the holiday season is celebrated by each of the different cultures represented. We started to add in heights with Tarzan’s Treehouse and a bit of fear with Snow White’s Scary Adventures. In the end, I was able to go on all the thrill rides including Indiana Jones Adventure, Space Mountain, and Star Tours. Throughout the day, we also went on several 1955 original rides including Dumbo the Flying Elephant and Peter Pan’s Flight. We had dinner in the New Orleans Square and the night ended with a beautiful fireworks show.

Some of my other last minute adventures included a night out on the town in Pasadena, karaoke in Hollywood, dinner at a Brazilian steakhouse in Beverly Hills, and  a wine tasting in Malibu. California has been a blast and I couldn’t have wished for anything more. In just a few days, I’ll be moving back across the country and I can’t wait to find out what’s in store. Since I’ll be on the East Coast once again, I’m hoping to visit Scranton for the first time as an alum very soon!
